China and Horticulture and Personal11 May 2008 11:27 am

Had a relaxed morning in Shanghai, meeting a friend for breakfast, before heading back to Ningbo.

Shanghai was quite a shock after leisurely Lijiang. The taxis are going at frightening speeds, the air is heavy and generally things feel less relaxed. Nevertheless, Shanghai is still one of my favourite places in China and I, once again, had a great time in those scarce few hours that I spent there this time.

Just thought I’d show you how the cabbage plantations have evolved into ‘snap-dragon’ plantations outside Jing An temple.

That’s the nice thing here – a lot of attention is payed to how the streets look and which plants might be used to decorate the flower beds. A real see of colours.
