After a string of fairly lengthy posts, I thought I’d mix things up slightly and just post several of my latest pictures, documenting: the view from my office window at home during the day and in the evening – we had a particularly spectacular sun set the other day… my stint in the ‘good life’ (see my previous post here), the white garden, which was magnificent yesterday, whilst it was misty in the morning, and finally my new bee hive and my raspberry swiss roll, decorated with raspberries from the garden.

Here part of my vegetable patch containing salad, peas and Calendula. I’m looking forward to the harvest in the upcoming days. The second photograph was taken in the water garden where the golden hop (Humulus lupulus) is taking over the roof of the ‘tea house’.

Here, the white garden with its exclusively white flowers or plants with variegated leaves. Yesterday started off as a rather misty day, which, despite the bad light, made the plants stand out particularly well. The white hydrangea (paniculata) must be one of my favourites, with its flowering heads of small florets.

Finally, my new bee hive in the heather garden, which will, unfortunately, remain empty for the rest of the season, as it is too cold for new bees to start nesting. Furthermore, as nectar is becoming scarce at this time of the year, they would not be able to collect enough honey to survive the winter … a project for the new year! Last, but certainly not least, my raspberry swiss roll. Another favourite of mine, both on terms of preparation and consumption …

Nice beehive! I like the crown. Gives it a royal touch, but then I guess you are looking for a queen bee to move in. N.
